The NIE Mission

  • To increase public awareness of the Daily Herald as an educational tool that bridges classroom lessons to practical applications.

  • To expand academic use of the Daily Herald by providing teachers with curriculum-focused newspaper activities, and by offering periodic demonstrations of effective use of these resources in the classroom.

  • To generate sufficient funds from individual and business donors to underwrite the cost of classroom copies of the Daily Herald.
